Try the AI Receptionist Free — 3-Minute Live Demo, Plus Free Browser Test Calls

Updated 6 October 2026

Summary

Two things that remove the friction from adopting Salutant:

- Try it before you buy it. A personalised 3-minute demo — you answer a few quick questions about your practice and pick a voice, then have an actual phone-style conversation with the AI receptionist. No signup. No credit card.

- Test it free with your own setup. Once you have an account, test calls from your browser with your own practice details and rules are free, up to 30 minutes a day. No card is needed until you want your own number.

Together, the two do one thing: they stop making an AI receptionist feel like a leap of faith.

The Demo — Try It Before You Sign Up

The hardest part of choosing an AI receptionist has always been the same problem: you cannot really judge a conversation agent from a video. A demo call is the only thing that tells you whether the AI can actually hold its end of a conversation, handle an interruption, recover from a misheard word, or deal gracefully with "actually, could I check something?"

So we built a public, no-signup demo. Here is what it does:

  1. You enter your practice name and your name, pick your profession, optionally add your address, hours and fees, and choose a voice
  2. The demo configures an AI receptionist persona for your practice on the spot
  3. You click Start Call and have a real voice conversation with it through your browser — 3-minute cap
  4. You can ask about appointments, fees, services, Medicare, NDIS, opening hours — the kinds of things your real clients ask
  5. The demo ends cleanly when the time is up, or when you hang up

What the demo deliberately shows off:

  • A natural booking conversation — not scripted. Bookings in the demo are requests only: nothing is booked
  • Crisis safety — if someone describes an emergency, the AI tells them to call triple zero (000) and gives crisis lines
  • Medicare and NDIS fee awareness — the AI knows the context for Australian private practice
  • Fast, natural turn-taking — no awkward silences, no "press 1 for..." menus
  • Accurate listening — medical terms, Australian accents, and uncommon names

The demo runs entirely in the browser on your phone or laptop. It does not call you. It does not ask for your number. There is nothing to install. Use made-up details and please don't share real health information: no audio is kept, and you can email yourself the written summary after the call.

What the Demo Is Not

It is a 3-minute product trial, not a production rollout. It is not connected to a real phone number. It does not take bookings into a real calendar. It is not configured for your actual practice services. Those all happen after you sign up and configure your receptionist settings.

The point of the demo is to answer one question: *does this AI actually feel like something I would put in front of my clients?* Everything else is easier once you know the answer.

Free Browser Test Calls

The second part is about what happens after you have created an account.

Every Salutant plan comes with a monthly pool of call minutes. That pool covers every call the AI handles on your behalf — after-hours calls, calls when you are in session, overflow calls when the line is busy.

But before you pick a plan, you want to hear the receptionist answer as *your* practice, with *your* rules. The question used to be: *does testing it cost me minutes?*

The answer is no. Test calls you make from your browser with your own setup are free, up to 30 minutes a day. They do not draw from a plan. No card is needed.

Why This Matters

You should be able to try to break a rule before you trust it. Ask for a time inside your notice window. Book as a new client when you've paused new clients. Ask about your cancellation policy.

The new model rewards the behaviour most practitioners want: *test it hard, then go live when you are ready.*

When You Go Live

Pick a plan when you want your own number, then forward your practice line to it. Review mode is on by default, so nothing touches your diary without your tap while you watch it work on real calls.

Put Together: A New Way to Choose an AI Receptionist

The pattern is simple and fair: try the demo free, then test your own setup free.

The demo removes the "I need to actually hear this" barrier that stops most people from signing up. The free test calls remove the "I want to see it keep my rules" barrier that stops people from fully committing after they do sign up.

Together they let you move from "interested" to "using it daily" without a leap of faith in the middle.
