Questions from psychology practices.
Does Salutant give clinical advice or assess risk?
No. It is a receptionist. It answers questions from the information you give it, books by your rules and takes messages. It never gives clinical advice, counsels or triages.
What happens when a caller is in crisis?
It tells the caller to call triple zero (000) if they are in immediate danger and gives Lifeline on 13 11 14, the Suicide Call Back Service and 13YARN. On a psychology line it stays on the line and offers to pass an urgent message to the practice. You get an urgent email, and a text if you add your mobile.
Will it book new clients straight into my diary?
Only if you choose. Review mode is on by default, so a booking is a request until you approve it. Switch review mode off and a booking lands in your diary the moment the call ends. The caller only hears “booked” once it has their name and number and has checked the time is still free.
How does it handle GP referrals and treatment plans?
You write what your practice needs from a referred client, and it tells callers that. It records the funding a caller mentions as they state it, and never decides whether they are eligible for a rebate.
Does it record our calls?
No. It keeps a written record of each call and does not record the audio, except a voicemail a caller chooses to leave.
Which practice software does it work with?
It books into Halaxy, Cliniko and Nookal, offering only times that are free in your diary.
Do hang-ups and short calls cost me?
No. Some callers change their mind about speaking with an AI receptionist, and some calls are spam. In good faith, if a call ends within the first 20 seconds, we don’t charge for it: it uses none of your minutes or balance. Every other call counts each started minute.
